One question.

Do you think that people have a core to them, like a core personality? Or perhaps I could describe it more as something they feel confident in and can hang on to, something that is always there? Or do you think that people are merely whatever they feel/think and do from moment to moment?

I believe there is a core, a deep inner self. It may be influanced and effected by the process of repeated thought recognition and analasys, but still a core self that consciousness must constantly reconcile.

I have experienced my core while under/in amnesia. It is me, but different from my day to day ego/personality. I know my core as "the observer." While it has a definite presence and structure, I would describe it more as a void. It is scary, yet comforting to know.

I'm not sure. There is a part of me that is ever expanding, never satisfied to stay in one place. Another part pulls back. Otherwise I would spend all my time learning or exploring ...the pulling back part makes sure I do basic chores .It's a balance.

When I am the learner/explorer my mind works in levels , each level sending branches outward ...this is a wonderful feeling.

When I am at work, working with addicted clients, my mind becomes very focused and centered and with the client. This is almost a zen feeling.

Both feel authentic ....which is the core? Both? something other?

        >>I know my core as "the observer." <<

This statement shows a high level of conscious awarness regardless how it was attained. With that awareness perceptions of the core will increase.

I see within my core the observer, which is usually the first to comprehend experience. The second aspect of core I see is what I call the judge, which performs the checks & balances and compares and assesses all stimuli and liasons/communicates between the first and 3rd aspect of core, which seems like that of a child, a perspective internally focused on how it's effected and how it's affecting.

I found this within myself through a process of listening to what I tell myself, and listening to how I feel about it.
